the studio
The studio sits in Aceifão, a once-abandoned schist village in Southern Portugal’s Serra de Abelha — a region steeped in terracotta tile history. Clara and her partner have been slowly restoring the village, stone by stone, over the past twenty-five years — the place where their children grew up, and where Clara draws her inspiration, surrounded by horses and abundant wildlife.
The evolving space reflects a deep connection to land, material, and traditional craftsmanship. The village exists as both a place of making and ongoing transformation. A fluid, living work of art in itself, the space continually evolves alongside Clara’s creative practice, blurring the boundaries between art, landscape, and daily life.

courses
Aceifão once had 30 residents; we are bringing it back to life. We’d love to share it with creative souls.
